2 1/2 c. flour

1 t. baking soda

1 t. baking powder

1 t. ground cinnamon

1/2 t. ground nutmeg

1/2 t. salt

1/2 c. butter, softened

1 1/2 c. granulated sugar

1 c. canned pumpkin puree

1 egg

1 t. vanilla

1 1/2 c. chocolate chips

In a large bowl cream together the butter and sugar, then add the pumpkin, egg and vanilla and mix well.  In a separate bowl mix the flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt.  Add flour mixture to butter/sugar mixture, mix thoroughly.  Add chocolate chips and stir till just combined.  Bake in a 350 degree oven for 15-20 minutes.  They should just be set and lightly browned when they are done.  Makes 2 1/2 dozen.

Hint:  Use a medium size scoop (typically smaller than an ice cream scoop) with a spring release to make perfect, uniform cookies every time.
